Kiwanis Club of Casa Loma 29th Annual Scholarship Luncheon

The 29th annual Kiwanis Club of Casa Loma Scholarship Luncheon was held in the Glass Pavilion at Casa Loma on June 9, 2025. KCCL Past President, Francesco Coccimiglio, emceed the inspiring program, which was coordinated by Scholarship Chair, Don Kibblewhite, and assisted by Key Club District Governor Lily Samaroo and Division 5 LG Jiana He. KCCL members were proud to present the recipients and their accomplishments. The guest speaker, Catriona Delaney, General Manager of Casa Loma, congratulated the “leaders of today” and energized the audience! The Kiwanis EC&C District Governor, Pam White, was impressed with the scholarship recipients’ achievements and praised this event as the highlight of her tour of Eastern Canada Kiwanis Clubs!
Eighteen recipients received scholarships valued at $1,500 each: 12 Key Club, 3 KCCL Student Leadership, the Donald Kibblewhite Humanities, Mark Brogden Business and Nick Di Donato Hospitality Scholarships. One aspiring musician received the John C. Bird Music Scholarship of $3,000.
In attendance were the Key Club Faculty Advisors, Principals, Vice-Principals and staff from the 11 participating high schools, Kiwanis Advisors from the Casa Loma, East York, Kingsway/Humber and Mississauga Kiwanis Clubs, Kiwanis members, and proud family and friends of the 19 scholarship recipients.
KCCL thanks the Kiwanis Foundation of Canada for its continuing financial support, through the Matching Scholarship and Mel Osborne Scholarship programs, and thanks the Kingsway/Humber Kiwanis Club for sponsoring their 2 Key Club Scholarships, Nick Di Donato for sponsoring his Hospitality Scholarship and the Bird family for contributing to the John Bird Scholarship.
The Kiwanis Club of Casa Loma congratulates these outstanding young women and men, who have provided remarkable leadership and service to their schools and community in keeping with the Kiwanis spirit. They will make excellent Kiwanis members in the future!
